Genesis 2:15-17
15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."
Genesis 3:1-9
1 The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”
2 “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied.
3 “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’”
4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman.
5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”
6 The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.
7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees.
9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

life interrupted
Interruptions are non negotiable
having a life interruption is not if but when
-Are you going to sink or swim?
-The choice is your's.
2 Proper Responses
-Expect it
-Embrace it
CHOICES IN LIFE INTERRUPTIONS
1)Bail out on:
-God
-Faith
-Church
2)TRUST GOD
Romans 8:26-28 (The Message)
26-28Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Luke 5:1-11 (New Living Translation)
1 One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.
2 He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.
3 Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”
5 “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.”
6 And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear!
7 A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.
8 When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.”
9 For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him.
10 His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed.
Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!”
Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!”
11 And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus.

WEDDING
MY COUSIN GOT MARRIED SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It didn't turn out completelyhow we planned but at end of the day she got married and that's all that really matters.I missed half of the wedding because we were in such a rush, and my cousin (her brother)missed all of it because he thought his wife had brought the steamer when she didn't so he went to get it even though it was probably 6 which was when the wedding was to start so he shouldn't have gone.It was around 6:20 when it actually began and it went by so fast.I miss them so much because i hardly get to visit them.I luv them and now i have a new cousin. It's so much fun when i'm down there & i never want to leave.
1)Weeping may endure for a night,But joy comes in the morning.
-Psalm 30:5
God loves you, has great things in store for your marriage, and promises joy to you. All you have to do is receive it.
So determine to wake up with a new attitude in the morning and seize the new day God has given you. Those precious minutes when you first wake up could determine how the rest of your day goes.
It’s going to be a great day!
2)Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.
-1 Samuel 30:6
In the Amplified Bible it says “But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”
David didn’t wait around for God or someone else to pick him up out of his depression. David encouraged himself by remembering God’s promises to him (that he would be king) and who he was (a child of God).
When we get in a funk, that’s what we need to do. We shouldn’t wait for someone else to help us feel better about ourselves or for that lightning bolt of encouragement from God!
Yes, definitely bring it to God by praying about it, but break out your Bible and find all of the scriptures you can on how much God loves you and how He has great things in store for you. Read them, write them down where you can see them, and say them out loud. Doing that on an ongoing basis will get God’s encouragement down into your heart, filling it up and pushing out those negative feelings. It’s certainly worked for me.
3)Letting our emotions lead us is a sure way to get out of the will of God.
We’re so used to doing or saying what we feel that we allow our emotions to control us without a second thought.
In the process of following where our “feelings” lead us, we begin veering away from God’s will. This then leads to many other negative consequences, including hurting those around us like our spouses, kids, friends, and coworkers.
Many times it gets us into trouble with people we don’t even know. Road rage would be a prime example of that.
Decisions should not be made on the basis of the negative emotions we are feeling.
That is especially true when it comes to dealing with another person. Damaged relationships can be hard to mend when one has been hurt by something another has said or done hastily in a moment of uncontrolled emotion.
Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification
-Romans 14:19
So begin preparing now for how you’ll handle the next time you feel your emotions leading you to say or do something, that you will probably regret later. Instead ready yourself to take that road towards peace. Your relationships will be blessed by the effort.
4)The Bible says that marriage makes the two individuals into one. To be successful in the marital relationship, you need to spend time with your spouse.
“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.”Mark 10:6-8 (NIV)
Take the time to get to know your spouse like you did when you were dating. Find out what their hopes, dreams, and aspirations are. Also, find out what their challenges and struggles are, so that you can be praying for them.
As you find yourself reconnecting and learning more about them, you’ll find yourself in a position to care for and love them increasingly every day.
God wants you to have a successful marriage, and having an intimate knowledge of who your spouse is is a big part of that.

hello?
1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
5 You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;the night will shine like the day,for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful,I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake,I am still with you.
19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,and lead me in the way everlasting.

Steve Fee
Hey guys if you want a ton of great songs and videos go onto youtube.com.One of my favorites are when you search Steve Fee,not to long ago I went to an outing where he was singing and I'm listening to him right now.To listen to the same just search Steve Fee and just choose one (F.Y.I. I'm listening to Steve Fee-All Because of Jesus).Oh and also I just wanted to tell you this,on the second/last day of Disciplenow (D-Now) Steve Fee had left Saturday night to go sing at Port City Community Church the next day on Sunday morning (my chorus teacher's church by the way!!!)Anyway the drummer from my church's band and the lead singer were leading us on Sunday. One of the groups that were there decided that they would sit where we had been sitting in the first row so they could run up to the front however they didn't know that Steve Fee had left. They stuck me and my friends on the second row and we realized that they wouldn't run up to the front. So the only people who ran up to the front were all from my church.Anyway we had a blast and for the first few days after we got back I was so wore out (only two days running around from fort to fort and so on screaming my lungs out but tirng all the same!!!!)
Gotta go :-)
Gotta go :-)

Hope
This morning in my quiet time I was spending some time reading psalms and really trying to apply it to my own life. This summer seems to have flown by and I hardly had any time to just sit and relax. I don’t know about any of you, but sometimes, when I get that busy, I tend to forget where my focus should be. Sure, I may spend time with God but little by little the stresses and pressures of life, work, school and other expectations seem to come to the forefront. I know with school starting, some of you are feeling the way I do, “Oy my…how am I ever going to catch up on homework, sleep, etc.” We get into this mental mode, this routine of every day life…that sort of carried over from the summer. I know I have! WE almost forget what we are here for, that God wants to use us, that we should be glorifying him, that he wants to know us. WE lose our focus, and in turn we begin losing our hope in God that he is able to intervene, can overcome all things, is in all things. You see faith is built on the HOPE that God is who he says he is, even when we can’t see him. Romans 8: 24-25 says, “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”
Thats my challenge to all of you out there…that you would HOPE for God to do something in you, to you, or through you this year in school. Psalm 71:14 says, “I will HOPE continuously. . “ CONTINUOUSLY means that you don’t stop HOPING. Never. Ever. That’s my prayers and hopes for all of you this week: that you NEVER STOP HOPING.

Wired
Day 1
Wired- for a life of worship.Welcome to the first day of a 30 day journal! I am so excited that you have chosen to take this journey with God and I truly believe your life will be better as a result of spending this time with God. During this 30 day journal each day we are going to zero in on one part of God’s character. It could be His faithfulness, patience, wisdom, or constant presence. One thing you will discover is that He is a perfect father and you will begin to see His love for you in a very personal way!
Now let be give you a few goals to shoot for…each day you need to commit this time to God, simply pray and tell God that you are giving your attention to Him and that you desire change in your life. Next give your full attention to the verses I have given you to read…slowly read through those verses…it might help if you personalize the verses…example “Jon wait patiently for the lord to help, He heard my prayer for help! God will come and help me when I am in trouble”…Well anyway it helps me so give it a try. After you have read the verses underline the phrases that stand out the most to you and then write a word that describes what that phrase means to you.Example “he turned to me and heard my cry” means his listening. After you have written out a word for each favorite phrase then that’s when you journal your thoughts writing out a simply pray thanking God, acknowledging Him, worshiping Him, and for the rest of the day think about those words you used to describe God. It’s that simple!I am so excited for you, it’s going to be a great and you are really going to see God at work in your lives.
Here is the first of our 30 day journal! I will give you a little sample of what it might look like after you finished.
Psalm 40
1-waited patiently for the Lord to help me,and he turned to me and heard my cry.
2- He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire.He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
3- He has given me a new song to sing,a hymn of praise to our God.Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.
4- Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proudor in those who worship idols.
5- O Lord my God, you have performed manywonders for us. Your plans for us are toonumerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds,I would never come to the end of themKey words for me Listening, Helps, cares, trust, mine, purpose
Dear God, I have learned a lot about you today, you really are listing to me and you want to help me in my time of need you genuinely care for me and what I am going through…I can trust you when I can trust no one else and you are mine…I want to say that over and over to you God…you are mine and I am yours…some times I question my purpose in life but you tell me that you have a lot of great plans for my life, will you help me know those plans…I can’t help but dream about them…well father I love you and I want to thank you for listening to me and helping me even when I do not deserve it… thank you for caring for me and that I can trust you with my life…can’t wait to see how you are going to use me today…I love you! P.S. Help me be strong it’s really hard sometimes. Amen

Exited
Hey guys!!!!!!! :-)
Scotts Hill Baptist Church is so much fun!!I know most of you will probably think that I am nuts but frankly you're entitled to your opinion but I don't care what you think of me.Last year sometime around the time it is now my friend brought me to Scotts Hill and it has been one of the best things in my entire life.I make friends there and hang out learning about God and worshipping. Some of you may think that people that are so spiritual are boring but they really aren't.They're just normal people like you with a belief that people may think is idiotic but once you come to think about it ,"how did all of the world come around?"There is a God out there who wants the best for each and every one of us.You don't realize how good off you have it until you lose it.If you look at other people ,do you have more or less than them then look beyond where you live think of the people over in Africa or somewhere else think of all the homeless people.I had wriiten a much better blog but then the computer messed up so I had to re type it.If you think that people like me for instance don't have fun,I hangout with my church sing, dance, compete, worship,go to the beach or movies,go to Panama City, and so much more while learning of what it means to be a christian, and all about God.Please tell your friends about this blog.I'll be posting Wired journals everyday for a month with regular blogs here and there and with lessons. On the web scottshill.org there are church sermons from Janurary 2006.Below are the directions to Scotts Hill if you wish to go if you live near or in Wilmington,NC.There's also the two church websites.
