Hope

This morning in my quiet time I was spending some time reading psalms and really trying to apply it to my own life. This summer seems to have flown by and I hardly had any time to just sit and relax. I don’t know about any of you, but sometimes, when I get that busy, I tend to forget where my focus should be. Sure, I may spend time with God but little by little the stresses and pressures of life, work, school and other expectations seem to come to the forefront. I know with school starting, some of you are feeling the way I do, “Oy my…how am I ever going to catch up on homework, sleep, etc.” We get into this mental mode, this routine of every day life…that sort of carried over from the summer. I know I have! WE almost forget what we are here for, that God wants to use us, that we should be glorifying him, that he wants to know us. WE lose our focus, and in turn we begin losing our hope in God that he is able to intervene, can overcome all things, is in all things. You see faith is built on the HOPE that God is who he says he is, even when we can’t see him. Romans 8: 24-25 says, “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”
Thats my challenge to all of you out there…that you would HOPE for God to do something in you, to you, or through you this year in school. Psalm 71:14 says, “I will HOPE continuously. . “ CONTINUOUSLY means that you don’t stop HOPING. Never. Ever. That’s my prayers and hopes for all of you this week: that you NEVER STOP HOPING.
